The Brussels Griffon was initially bred to catch vermin in stables.  He was initially bred from a German Affenpinscher and a Belgian street dog.  He was also mixed with the Pug, which is responsible for the short-haired version, and also the Ruby Spaniel, which is responsible for the almost human-like face.  He reaches about 7 to 8 inches, and weighs about 8 to 10 pounds.  His color can be red, black, beige, black or tan.  This dog can make a wonderful companion.

Training

The Brussels Griffon is curious and intelligent.  Sometimes this breed can be difficult to house train.  This breed is loyal and wishes to please.

Exercise

This breed enjoys walking and swimming. Due to his short stature, he makes a good apartment dog.
